The Iubilo URV Scientific Roundtable will focus this session on the uniqueness and trajectory of the wines from the DOQ Priorat, a region that has undergone an exemplary transformation to become one of the world's leading wine regions. Professor Fernando Zamora, from the URV Faculty of Enology, will provide an overview of the historical evolution of these wines, the late 20th-century revival led by pioneering winemakers, and the natural factors that shape their identity.
Key elements to be discussed include the llicorella soils, the climate of contrasts, and the presence of old vineyards on steep slopes, all of which contribute to the concentration, aromatic complexity, and character that have established Priorat as a premier oenological and cultural heritage.
