 Chemistry) and Celebration of Saint Albert the Great’s Feast Day

DESCRIPTION:Next Friday\, November 14\, you are invited to the official ope
 ning ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year at the Faculty of Chemistry\,
  which will coincide with the celebration of Saint Albert the Great&#39\;s
  Feast Day.\n\nAcademic activities will be suspended from 12:00 p.m. for a
 ll courses\, when the ceremony will begin in classrooms 101 and 102 of the
  Faculty of Chemistry.\n\nThe inaugural lecture\, entitled &quot\;Protomun
 dos: The Role of Silica in the Origin of Life&quot\;\, will be given by Dr
 . Juan Manuel García Ruiz\, Ikerbasque Professor at the Donostia Internat
 ional Physics Center.\n\nDuring the ceremony\, the following awards will b
 e presented:\n&middot\; Award to students with the highest entrance grades
  who began their studies at the Faculty of Chemistry in the 2025-2026 acad
 emic year.\n&middot\; Catalan Chemical Society Award for the best Chemistr
 y and Chemistry in English Final Degree Project (TFG) of the 2024-2025 aca
 demic year.\n&middot\; Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol
 ogy Award for the best Final Degree Project in Biochemistry and Molecular 
 Biology\, as well as the best from the Double Degree in Biotechnology and 
 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for 2024-2025.\n&middot\; Recognition o
 f recently retired faculty members.\n\nFrom 1:30 p.m.\, in the courtyards 
 of the Faculty of Chemistry\, several activities will take place:\n&middot
 \; Electronic vermouth at student-friendly prices\, organized by Chemistry
  students.\n&middot\; Lunch (&euro\;5) including salad\, paella\, dessert\
 , and one drink (additional drinks will cost &euro\;1). Please register us

 :00 p.m.\n&middot\; Scientific bingo\n&middot\; Chemistry-themed gymkhana\
